…I climbed a thermal in a glider at the same time as an eagle. I witnessed, close up, effortlessness and lightness combined with strength, precision and determination.

Whats Behind our name?

I cook on well-seasoned cast iron.  I don’t use a timer or measuring spoons.  A pinch of this, a dash of that and ‘yeah that smells about right’ work for me.  Recipes are great suggestions and often work best when combining two or three.  I’ve taken classes at the Culinary Institute in New York, a cooking class in Thailand and I will never leave a bar without asking the bartender how they made their fabulous cocktail, but nothing beats the experience of trial and error for me.  Copying a recipe or relying on someone else’s versions never leads to something unique or interesting and you can taste the difference.

I’ve launched my own products, started a business and introduced a half of dozen product lines to the US market.  Some are still going strong and others have found their way off the menu.  As with kitchen artistry, vision, perseverance and patience are the key ingredients to starting anything new.  They are the necessary foundation, which if prepared correctly, can take you anywhere.  Sautéing garlic with onions and the right seasonings to achieve the right caramelization forms the backbone of dish – whether it is lasagna, an Asian soup, a chutney sauce or, dare I say – a new brand.

Another fact about me: I have a fascination with flight in general and find large birds like eagles and condors mesmerizing.  Years ago during a research project of creating a new name for a brand, I came across a bird called Argentavis Magnificens, meaning magnificent silver bird.  It was the largest dinosaur bird ever to be found, with a wing span of nearly twenty feet – the size of a small plane.  That name didn’t work for that project, but it was always there, in the back of my mind.

In 2015, I started a consulting businesses helping other startups and brand owners find the right caramelization for their projects and helping them line up the necessary ingredients for their visions.  While imagining the awe and humility inspired by a twenty-foot bird soaring across the sky, I decided finally to use the name and called my new company Argentavis.  Yes – a name people cannot pronounce, have never heard of, and has very little in common with my business.  But marketing and advertising are foremost about vision – both creating a vision for the target audience and envisioning the path you’re about to forge.  Starting something new can seem large and daunting.  I like to imagine that through the eyes of a twenty-foot bird, there is a certain ease and self-assurance looking out across the world, deciding where to go and how to get there.  It’s an inspirational mental picture as we plow through life experimenting with the trial and error of finding the right caramelization and seasonings for the projects we conceive and pursue.

Over the years I’ve made a number of industry contacts and I’m not shy about using their expertise to obtain the necessary goals.  I’ve put together a solid team of professionals and I look forward to working with you on your project and growing your brand.
